High Quality Instruction

Early Warning Indicators

Using the data below, describe all intervention strategies employed by the school to improve the academic performance of students identified by the early warning system.

RTI is implemented as a tiered approach to instructional delivery that includes interventions of increasingly higher intensity that is based on student needs. Assessment data gathered during data chats and professional learning community (PLC) meetings provides the evidence of student learning, and based on this information, decisions are made about the most appropriate instruction, including interventions that will help a student learn. Monthly RTI meetings are scheduled to address concerns and parents are invited to attend these meetings. Progress monitoring of interventions effectiveness and ongoing teacher support is provided.

Teacher interventions/strategies during instructional time include: small group instruction, scaffolding, activating prior knowledge, modeling/demonstration, performence feedback, peer buddy, center activities, collaborative group activities, and technoloy.

Additional academic support is offered to struggling students by facilitating pull-out and push-in programs.

Attendance concerns also follow a three tiered approach. Each tier calls for a different level of intensity that is based on student need. This includes collaboration with teachers, administration and social worker.

Bananas About Attendance incentive to encourage students to have good attendance, will be implemented for the 2025-2026 school year.

Mid-Year Reflection

Progress: Is desired progress being made to accomplish the intended outcome for the Area of Focus by the end of the school year? Yes
Evidence: Provide evidence of the implementation challenges the school encountered during the Fall semester. Describe the changes made to address these challenges.
Based FAST PM3 scores from previous year, results of PM1 of 30% in current school year indicate that students success declined - as a result of summer regression. Some grade levels did not demonstrate proficiency level. These specific students need additional intervention to close learning gaps.
Evidence-based Interventions/Strategies: What was each Intervention/Strategy’s identified strengths and weaknesses?
To adjust instruction to meet the needs of all students, intervention small group support, and monitor progress through weekly PLC meetings. The weakness considered in this area is adequate time allotted for the interventions to be provided, daily. The strength includes analyzing student growth with a Data Tracker spreadsheet, which is completed weekly to identify level of proficiency and/or gains can be made.
New Actions: Describe any new actions that are needed to accomplish the intended outcome for the Area of Focus.
Providing targeted small group interventions. Spiral reviews for students retain concepts/skills and continue small group intervention support.
Additional Reflections (optional): Please add any additional reflections for this Area of Focus.
Continue to monitor student attendance, so more effective interventions can be provided to the students.
