High Quality Instruction

Early Warning Indicators

Using the data below, describe all intervention strategies employed by the school to improve the academic performance of students identified by the early warning system.

Students in grades K through 5 are administered the F.A.S.T progress monitoring assessment in reading and math to monitor progress toward grade level standards and expectations three times an academic year.

All Students K-5 participate in core literacy, math, and science instruction. Teachers utilize school level pacing guide and Benchmark Advance as a resource to plan grade level instruction for all students. All students participate in small group reading instruction during their 90-minute reading block to receive individualized instruction based on student needs, with an additional 30-minute intervention block where students receive personalized and tailored instruction.   Teachers in K-5 utilize Envision Math, Cpalms, the B1G M's,  and the districts pacing guide to plan grade level math instruction for all students with an additional 15-minute daily math intervention. All teachers utilize Discovery Science and the schools pacing guide to address science standards at each grade K-5.

Supplemental programs in reading include the UFLI  in grades K-2 and grades 3-5 utilizes UFLI, SIPPS, and Magnetic Readers. Supplemental programs in math and science include the Florida Practice Math Coach and Science Coach, respectively. Supplemental programs in writing include district-created lessons and materials, and writing instruction includes all students in grades K-5. Math fluency skills are addressed with iReady (Grades 2-5). Finally, to address vocabulary needs, special attention is given to the embedded lessons and activities in Benchmark Advance and Wordly Wise and Vocabulary Surge.

Interventions are strategically assigned to students based on their needs as identified through Diagnostic Assessments and CPST meetings.
Interventions and Supplemental programs for students with disabilities include Touch Math, MDIS, Reading Mastery, Visualize and Verbalizing for Language Comprehension and Thinking, and students are monitored each quarter using diagnostic assessments.
