Using the data below, describe all intervention strategies employed by the school to improve the academic performance of students identified by the early warning system.

Students that are reading below grade level will receive Tier 2 and/or Tier 3 intervention in the specific area(s) of need and utilizing evidence based resources from the Broward K-12 Comprehensive Evidence-Based Reading Plan. The Science of Reading Part 2 (decision chart) will be used to assess students beginning with phonological awareness, then phonics, then fluency, then vocabulary, and finally comprehension. Students in need of phonological awareness and/or phonics intervention will receive instruction using Heggerty and SIPPS. Students in need of fluency, vocabulary, or comprehension intervention will receive instruction using the Benchmark Advance Intervention Materials. These students will also be invited to academic camps to receive additional reading interventions.

Retained third graders will receive instruction for their 90 minute reading block by an interventionist who is reading endorsed. They will also receive interventions during the school day and after school camps.
