Student attendance is a priority at Miramar Elementary if students are not in school, than they can't learn. It is our collective responsibility to ensure students are in school. We are working on incentives and teaching parents the importance of being on time and present in school. This requires effort form all stakeholders. We also endeavor to build positive relationships with families to ensure that students and families can work together and in collaboration to ensure student success.
Specidic Interventions are in place to bridge the learning gaps in ELA. Our teachers are using Benchmark (Tier I) and UFLI and Reading Horizons for the Intervention Block. Other Intervention that may be used are Heggerty's (Phonics)  Quick Reads (Fluency & Comprehension) and Worldly Wise (Vocabulary). These interventions are an additional remediation often given by a Special Area teacher or a resource teacher or a paraprofessional. We are using all personnel to decrease the achievement gap in Grades K-5.
