Using the data below, describe all intervention strategies employed by the school to improve the academic performance of students identified by the early warning system. Royal Palm has implemented a school-wide intervention model, Scholars Reaching Success (SRS), to improve the academic performance of all students. This initiative ensures that every scholar receives targeted, intensive interventions or enrichment focused on literacy and reading development. Scholar progress is monitored every three weeks, with data used to gauge growth and guide future instructional decisions. The design of each student’s intervention is determined by their beginning-of-year FAST assessment data. Based on individual needs, students may receive support in phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, or comprehension. Specific programs have been prescribed to address these areas of need. For phonics instruction, the school utilizes UFLI for grades 1–3, Horizons Elevate and Phonics for Reading for grades 4–5. For students requiring support in comprehension, the Leveled Literacy Intervention (LLI) and Benchmark Advance programs are implemented. All scholars who scored a Level 1 on the 2025 Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST) are entered into the Response to Intervention (RTI) process. A multidisciplinary team analyzes student data to determine appropriate interventions and monitors progress closely. Students identified as needing Tier 3 interventions receive instruction from a reading-endorsed teacher using Reading Horizons or Benchmark Advance. In addition, scholars exhibiting two or more Early Warning Indicators are carefully monitored by the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) team. These students receive targeted support through the RTI process and are engaged in “Success Groups,” which include monthly small-group counseling sessions with the school counselor. Parents of these scholars are invited to attend quarterly meetings to foster collaboration and support student growth. The school’s social worker plays an essential role in supporting these families by maintaining frequent communication and providing access to community resources. These efforts are designed to enhance parental involvement and strengthen support for learning at home. |
