Using the data below, describe all intervention strategies employed by the school to improve the academic performance of students identified by the early warning system.

An evidence-based sequence of reading instruction is implemented.  All instruction is systematic, explicit and based on data as evidence by the Star Early Literacy  Diagnostic  administered. Star Early Literacy will be administered three times  this year for Grades VPK - 2.  Students in Grades 3-5 will be administered the Florida Assessment for Student Thinkig, F.A.S.T., three times this year as well.    Assessments through benchmark Advance, such as the Common Assessments will be administered and  student grouping will be modified/adjusted based on ongoing progress monitoring data.  All groups are fluid.

A stringent RtI process takes place weekly on Tuesdays.  Both student academic and behavior information is used to identify students with learning and behavior needs.  This is the focus to ensure that students are getting the appopriate Tier of instruction or service to guarantee those in danger of failure and/or retention are receiving assistance and support on a daily and consistent basis.  Students that are identified as Tier 3 are instructed by and/or in the homeroom of teachers who are reading endorsed or certified.

The Identification/Intervention Decision Tree charts demonstrate how assessment data from progress monitoring and other forms of identification will be used at the school level to determine specific reading instructional needs and interventions for students.  The Multi-tiered System of Support is designed by the reading and math human and material resources to specifically address the needs of our students on a one-to one basis.  The materials contained for use in the MTSS document allows for differentiation of instruction to meet the student where they are and then to assist with getting the student on or above level.

Also for this year additional funded positions such as Resource Teachers are using a push-in/pull-out model to work with targeted students that are identified based on Tier data or proficiency level.
