Using the data below, describe all intervention strategies employed by the school to improve the academic performance of students identified by the early warning system.

The following strategies outline our schoolwide approach to improving ELA achievement through strong Tier 1 instruction, targeted intervention, data-driven decision-making, and ongoing collaboration. By focusing on the specific needs of students in both the primary and intermediate grades, we will work to strengthen literacy outcomes, close achievement gaps, and increase student ownership of learning.

To improve ELA outcomes in Grades K–2, we will strengthen foundational literacy instruction through intentional planning, targeted support, and consistent use of student data. Teachers will collaborate with instructional coaches to plan standard-aligned lessons and receive timely feedback that supports effective instructional practices. Lower quartile students will receive focused small-group instruction based on identified skill gaps and priority standards, while PLCs and collaborative planning sessions will be used to review student data, identify needs, and adjust instruction and interventions. Students will also be encouraged to take ownership of their learning by setting goals, tracking their progress, and celebrating growth throughout the year. In addition, families will receive resources and opportunities to support literacy development at home, creating a stronger connection between classroom instruction and family engagement.

To improve ELA outcomes in Grades 3–5, we will strengthen Tier 1 instruction with an emphasis on comprehension, vocabulary development, and engagement with complex text. Teachers will provide rigorous, standards-aligned instruction while using student data to identify gaps, monitor progress, and adjust instructional practices during PLCs and collaborative planning sessions. Lower quartile students will receive targeted small-group instruction based on their individual needs and progress toward grade-level expectations. Coaching, professional learning, and professional collaboration will also be used to share best practices and strengthen instructional delivery across grade levels. Students will set academic goals and monitor their progress, helping them take greater ownership of their learning. Families and community partners will be provided with meaningful opportunities and resources to support literacy development beyond the classroom.
