Using the data below, describe all intervention strategies employed by the school to improve the academic performance of students identified by the early warning system. In school, we conduct teacher-student conferences/data chats, where we individually or in small groups meet with the students to discuss academic performance either in the current subject that the teacher teaches or other classes the student may find challenging. A second intervention strategy we utilize is gradebook data (e.g., Focus). The students are provided with the opportunity to look at their grades to check for missing assignments and/or check their overall academic/ class performance. During study hall/socio-emotional learning classes, we allow the students to work on the selected assignments or speak with the teacher(s) in which their grades may be at the lowest for chances to re-do or complete missing work. A third intervention strategy we utilize is the usage of school therapists/counselors. School therapists/counselors meet with their students during therapeutic sessions to discuss their behavior and academic performance. A fifth intervention strategy is the usage of academic software ( e.g., Success Maker, HMH Ed [READ180], SAVVAS, and I-Ready) where we keep track of student performance and progress. Students are also allowed to access their progress and compare it to previous scores. |
