Early Warning Indicators

Using the data below, describe all intervention strategies employed by the school to improve the academic performance of students identified by the early warning system.

Using the data below, describe all intervention strategies employed by the school to improve the academic performance of students identified by the early warning system.

Grade 6-8 Students who score a Level 1 or 2 on the FAST-Math will be provided remediation and access to teachers for extra help in morning before school.  The district provided resources on the Secondary Math SharePoint will be used to support students struggling in math. Teachers, the Math Department Head and the Math administrator will collaborate to analyze PM1 and PM2 data to monitor student progress.

The MTSS team will meet weekly to review student academic and behavior information and identify students with learning and behavior needs to guarantee that those in danger of failure and/or retention are receiving assistance and support.

The percentage of learning gains for Grades 6-8 students in Lowest quartile in ELA will increase from 57% to 59% by the end of May 2025 as measured by the Reading FAST. Progress: Is desired progress being made to accomplish the intended outcome for the Area of Focus by the end of the school year? No
Evidence: Provide evidence of the implementation challenges the school encountered during the Fall semester. Describe the changes made to address these challenges.
We have been implementing Centers in classes.  Some centers were too easy (leading to finished work and boredom), while others were too complex, forcing students to interrupt the teacher's small-group session for help.Instead of complex "new" activities at every center, teachers began using "Anchor Activities"—familiar games or formats where only the content changed (e.g., the game "Bump" stays the same, but the math facts change). This reduced the need for constant re-explanation.
Evidence-based Interventions/Strategies: What was each Intervention/Strategy’s identified strengths and weaknesses?

The teachers have began to pull 4–6 students for targeted, level-appropriate lessons. This has proved to be highly effective for closing the gap. It allows for immediate feedback and allows the teacher to catch misconceptions in real-time.

New Actions: Describe any new actions that are needed to accomplish the intended outcome for the Area of Focus.
To further reduce the burden on the teacher and constant interuptions when the teacher was in small group, the "Ask Three Before Me" strategy was assigned to a student in a leadership role.

We will continue to encourage teachers to focus on center implementation.  We have certain teachers who have embraced this and others who struggle to implement it.
