|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Evidence-based Interventions/Strategies: What was each Intervention/Strategy’s identified strengths and weaknesses? | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Evidence: Provide evidence of the implementation challenges the school encountered during the Fall semester. Describe the changes made to address these challenges. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Implementation Challenge#1: Of the 8 classes in 4th grade this academic school year, 2 classes had to begin the year with substitutes. By the end of August, a new 4th grade teacher was hired and the other teacher returned from leave. Changes: The fourth grade team planned with the substitutes to make sure that the focus calendar was being followed. Implementation Challenge#2: Forty percent (40%) of students in the lowest quartile have IEPs and receive specialized instruction below grade level for part of the school day, which affects their exposure to grade-level standards. Changes: PLC's are focusing on implementation of Standards Mastery; ESE students receiving instruction service in Phonics, have that domain turned off in Iready to allow more exposure in their individualized pathway for vocabulary and comprehension |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Evidence-based Interventions/Strategies: What was each Intervention/Strategy’s identified strengths and weaknesses? | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Just Words (select ESE students): Strengths- strong decoding and spelling emphasis for students with phonics as an identified area of weakness Weakness - by design the program does not provide broad literacy instruction in literacy and comprehension Magnetic Intervention (classroom intervention): Strength - provides rigorous passages for independent practice with FAST-style questioning Weakness - program relies heavily on writing and encoding components |
