High Quality Instruction

Early Warning Indicators

Using the data below, describe all intervention strategies employed by the school to improve the academic performance of students identified by the early warning system.

Academic Interventions-Reading ELA

  • Phonics Bootcamp (Grades 1st–5th): Students with substantial reading deficiencies receive targeted small-group instruction in phonics, fluency, and comprehension.
  • Progress Monitoring Tools: Use of trackers and weekly data reviews to ensure interventions are aligned and adjusted quickly.
  • Imagine Learning & i-Ready: Digital programs provide personalized practice and adaptive lessons, with data monitored weekly.
  • Pull-Out & Push-In Support: Interventionists and instructional coaches work in small groups during the literacy block for struggling readers.
  • Family Literacy Engagement: Take-home resources, family nights, and reading logs extend literacy practice beyond school.

Academic Interventions-Math
  • Math Small-Group Instruction: Interventionists provide targeted reteaching of foundational math skills for identified students.
  • Math Fact Fluency Programs: Daily practice and progress monitoring for automaticity in basic facts.
  • i-Ready Math: Personalized lessons to address gaps, monitored weekly by teachers and leadership.
  • Math Camps & Tutoring: After-school or Saturday support offered for grades with higher deficiencies.
Attendance
  • Daily Attendance Monitoring: Teachers take real-time attendance, and the attendance team flags students with patterns of chronic absenteeism.
  • Family Outreach: Phone calls, parent conferences, and home visits are conducted to address barriers (transportation, illness, disengagement).
  • Attendance Incentives: Class- and school-wide recognition programs reward improved and consistent attendance.
  • Tiered Supports: Students with persistent attendance issues are referred to the counselor/social worker for case management or mentoring.
